Alan Strassman
Co-ChairAlan is a founding partner and a member of the Board of Directors. He advises on firm strategy and is a member of the Risk Committee. Prior to joining Martingale in 1988, Alan was a Trustee, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer of Batterymarch Financial Management. Before joining Batterymarch, he was the President and CEO of Bernstein-Macaulay, a New York investment management company. Alan began his career at Putnam Management Company where he served as a senior portfolio manager and member of the Investment Policy Committee before becoming the Director of Corporate Planning and Development. He was also a member of Putnam’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Alan is a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University and received an M.B.A. with distinction from the Harvard Business School. A member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston, Alan has lectured and published numerous articles on investment management and has served as a director of several companies during his career. Alan is also a Trustee of several not-for-profit institutions.
