Kent Daniel
Advisory Board MemberKent Daniel is the Jean-Marie Eveillard/First Eagle Investment Management Professor of Business, Finance Division, Columbia Business School at Columbia University. Previously, Kent was at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was the John and Helen Kellogg Distinguished Professor of Finance. He also served on the faculties of the University of Chicago and the University of British Columbia. Kent also spent six years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management. At GSAM, he became a managing director and head of the Quantitative Investment Strategies group’s equity research effort. He became a co-chief investment officer in 2009. Kent’s academic research has been primarily in the areas of behavioral finance and asset pricing. Kent is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is an invited seminar speaker at leading universities and a featured speaker at industry forums, and he has authored numerous articles.
Kent received a B.S. with honors in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1981 and an M.B.A. from UCLA in 1987. He received his Ph.D. in finance from UCLA in 1992.
